Network and iSCSI Accelerator Drivers for Windows
 
Choosing the Appropriate Driver
Currently their exists more than one driver that may support a given hardware product or OS version or configuration. Use the following three tables to choose which driver will be most appropriate for your environment.

9.1.0.1283 Network and iSCSI Accelerator Driver for Windows Server 2008

 

The 9.1.0.1283 driver is included in the Windows Server 2008 operating system media. If you put an Alacritech card in a Windows Server 2008 host, the "Find New Hardware Wizard" will automatically detect it and install the driver, therefor no downloaded driver is necessary.

Note that Server 2008 ships with TCP Offload disabled both globally and on a per interface basis by default. Follow these instructions to enable TCP Offload on Server 2008.


 
9.2.0.2044 Network and iSCSI Accelerator Driver for Windows with SNP [Scalable Networking Pack]

 
The current Alacritech Network and iSCSI Accelerator driver release for for gigabit hardware on Microsoft Windows versions that support Microsoft Scalable Networking Pack [SNP] is 9.2.0.2044
 
This driver is appropriate for all gigabit Alacritech Network Accelerator and iSCSI Accelerator products as long as the Microsft Scalable Networking pack is installed on the the host.
 
This is a feature release. This release adds support for membership in up to 32 tagged VLANs. This release also adds bug fixes that were not present in the 9.1.0.1092 release.

7.3.1.0 Network and iSCSI Accelerator Driver for Windows 2000/XP/2003

 
The current Alacritech Network and iSCSI Accelerator driver release for gigabit hardware on Microsoft Windows 2000, Windows XP x86, and Windows 2003 x86 is 7.3.1.0
 
This driver is appropriate for all gigabit Alacritech Network Accelerator and iSCSI Accelerator products.
 
This is a maintenance release driver and contains fixes for bugs discovered in the previous release. See the release notes for details about the bug fixes.
 
This driver adds no new features over the previous release (7.3.0.1r3)

6.3.1.1 Network and iSCSI Accelerator Driver for Windows 2000/XP/2003

 
The current Alacritech Network Accelerator Driver release for 100 Megabit hardware on Microsoft Windows 2000 and Windows XP is 6.3.1.1. 100 Megabit hardware is not supported on Windows 2003, Nor is the 6.3.1.1 driver.
 
This driver is appropriate for all Alacritech 100 megabit and first generation gigbit Network Accelerator and iSCSI Accelerator products. This driver includes bug fixes added since the release of the 6.3.0.5 Network and iSCSI Accelerator driver. For details on bugs fixed in this driver, see the Release Notes

* The WHQL certification for slic100.sys does not extend to the singleport 10/100 card [P/N 2000-100004] as Microsoft classifies this card as a desktop interface. The WHQL test for desktop interfaces includes Wake-On-Lan, but the 10/100 card does not have hardware support for it.

This package contains the 7.3.1.0 network miniport driver for Windows 2000, XP, and 2003 preinstallation environments. Note that this is the same miniport driver version that is contained in the full 7.3.1.0 package. This driver will only work for hardware that is supported by the 7,3,1,0 driver. This package also contains the version 1.0.1.2 PXE/UNDI driver and the slicuser program. It contains everything necessary to run an Alacritech NIC (without teaming or TCP offload) in a BartPE Pre-installation Environment, including the ability to flash the card.

iSCSI boot components

 
The Alacritech/emBoot iSCSI boot solution consists of multiple components, both hardware and software. To better understand this solution, please see the iSCSI boot page.

Proper implementation of iSCSI boot requires that the individual components are compatible. Use the following table as a guide.

iSCSI boot PXE/UNDI drivers for Alacritech hardware

 
This PXE/UNDI driver is used to support iSCSI boot in conjunction with emBoot's netBoot/i and winBoot/i solutions. See the Alacritech's iSCSI boot page for more detail. It is recommended that customers always use the most recent PXE/UNDI version available. The current PXE/UNDI driver is version 1.0.1.3
 
1.0.1.3 PXE/UNDI components
The current PXE/UNDI driver flash components are version 1.0.1.3. The installed PXE/UNDI version can be determined by observing the boot process after the PXE/UNDI has been installed.
 
These flash components are compatible with all 2000 and 2100 series Alacritech Accelerator hardware. This package is provided primarily so that PXE/UNDI support can be updated independantly from the network drivers.

Download emBoot winBoot/i

 

Alacritech has partnered with emBoot to provide a complete iSCSI boot solution. For use with Alacritech SNP drivers, customers should use the emBoot winBoot/i solution. Alacritech now provides a download link to the current version of winBoot/i as well as a trial license. A permanent license for winBoot/i must be purchase from emBoot.

Alacritech has partnered with emBoot to provide a complete iSCSI boot solution. For use with Alacritech ATCP drivers, customers should use the emBoot netBoot/i solution. netBoot/i software is included on the driver CD that shipped with your Alacritech Accelerator. It is also included the CD image file above. A trial license sticker should have been affixed to the CD sleeve, but if that is not available, you may request a new one.
