Alacritech and Nishan Systems to Host Free iSCSI Online Seminar
iSCSI Innovators Show Users How to Maximize IP Storage Networks
San Jose, Calif., June 4, 2002 Alacritech®, Inc., the innovator of network accelerator solutions that enable fast and efficient servers and storage systems, and Nishan Systems, the world's first supplier of native IP storage solutions, today announced the two companies will host a free online seminar entitled "Getting More out of Your IP Network" to educate attendees on key storage applications for IP storage networks. The online seminar is part of Nishan's IP Storage Road Trip series of seminars, and will be held on June 6th at 10:00 a.m. PDT (1 p.m. EDT).
As storage networking and data networking continue to merge, enterprise users are looking to extend functionality in their IP-based networks. By attending this seminar, customers will learn how Alacritech and Nishan's IP storage solutions meet critical business requirements in real-world environments. Cost-effective and easy-to-deploy solutions are available today to improve server and NAS performance, consolidate servers and storage, and enable remote backup and data access over IP networks. The joint Alacritech-Nishan "Getting More out of Your IP Network" web seminar will help users:
- Determine whether their IP network is ready for IP storage
- Identify the best applications for IP storage
- Get the most out of existing IP and storage investments
- Identify tests for maximizing server and NAS appliance performance
- Choose the best interface for servers and IP storage
Alacritech and Nishan representatives will present relevant content, and answer questions from participants. The web seminar will last one hour, and participants can submit questions online to the presenters during the tutorial presentation.
Registration for the event can be completed online at www.nishansystems.com/roadtrip. Registrants are eligible to win an autographed copy of IP SANs, a book by Tom Clark, director of technical marketing at Nishan Systems. Winners will be notified at the end of the seminar. In addition, a free chapter of the book will be available at the end of the seminar for all participants.
Alacritech, Inc. was founded by Larry Boucher, creator of the SCSI interface, to deliver upon his vision of eliminating the server bottleneck. Today, Alacritech is the innovator of network accelerator solutions that enable fast and efficient servers and storage systems. Alacritech's complete line of high-performance server and storage accelerators is based on the company's patented SLIC (session-layer interface card) Technology to optimize the performance of servers, network-attached storage and iSCSI storage devices. SLIC Technology is the first fully compatible and scalable technology to offload network protocol processing, primarily TCP/IP, from software on the host system to silicon on the adapter. Based in San Jose, California, Alacritech is privately held. Alacritech is a member of the 10 Gigabit Ethernet Alliance and the Storage Networking Association (SNIA) and a founding member of the SNIA IP Storage Forum.
