Alacritech Announces OEM Partnership with Huge Systems

Alacritech's SLIC Technology Empowers HugeMediaLibrary RAID Storage System with
Maximum Performance and Scalability to 10 Gigabit Ethernet and Beyond

Las Vegas, Nev., — April 8, 2002 — (Huge Systems NAB Booth #22014) — Alacritech®, Inc., the innovator of network accelerator solutions that enable fast and efficient servers and storage systems, today announced an OEM agreement with Huge Systems, Inc., a provider of fast, affordable RAID storage systems for the entertainment industry. Huge Systems will integrate Alacritech's SLIC Technology® into its newly announced HugeMediaLibrary¹ RAID storage system to enable high-speed digital media access over TCP/IP networks and scalability to 10 Gigabit Ethernet.

The HugeMediaLibrary is the first combination NAS/SAN device specifically designed for rich media content. For users that need shared network storage, the integrated Gigabit Ethernet ports using Alacritech's SLIC Technology include native file sharing capabilities and broad cross-platform compatibility. Use of the Alacritech 1000x1 Single-port Server and Storage Accelerator, the industry's first Integrated Storage Network Interface Card (IS-NIC), will allow the HugeMediaLibrary to provide real-time access to multiple SDTV-resolution video files simultaneously. When 10 Gigabit Ethernet becomes available, Alacritech's IS-NIC will ensure HugeMediaLibrary scales to provide multiple streams of HDTV-resolution video material.

"Our partnership with Alacritech, the leading provider of TCP acceleration solutions, enables us to offer our customers a complete, high-performance system that functions extremely well in demanding shared media environments," said Mike Anderson, chief designer, Huge Systems, Inc. "With HugeMediaLibrary, we strived to develop a system that provided content creators with multi-platform support and true file sharing, yet didn't sacrifice scalability and superior performance - we succeeded in developing such a system thanks to Alacritech's innovative TCP/IP acceleration technology."

"Our OEM partnership with Huge Systems is another example of how SLIC Technology can be easily integrated into a NAS/SAN storage subsystem to produce phenomenal results," said Larry Boucher, founder, chairman and CEO, Alacritech, Inc. "SLIC Technology is a key enabler for storage products supporting the digital revolution taking place in the entertainment industry."
