Dynamic TCP Offload TechnologyTM integrated with EqualLogic and AMS Storage appliances enables users to advance performance
SAN JOSE, Calif. / STORAGE NETWORKING WORLD, Dallas, Texas – October 15, 2007 – Alacritech Inc., the leader of innovative data-delivery technology, today announced that its Scalable Network Accelerators (SNAs) have been integrated into Advanced Media Services (AMS) Windows Storage Server NAS Gateways, specifically supporting EqualLogic PS Series iSCSI SANs. Alacritech SNAs enable NAS gateways and network servers to scale to higher performance by removing any TCP processing bottlenecks, delivering sustained high-performance to more client systems. The integration with the AMS NAS Gateways is designed to enable EqualLogic’s PS Series iSCSI SAN customers to receive the benefits of TCP/IP offload technologies and high-speed networking with Windows.

Combining Alacritech SNAs with a Microsoft Windows Storage Server-enabled NAS gateway allows IT managers to leverage NAS and SAN functionality while benefiting from the increased network application and performance that TCP/IP Offload technology brings. This approach provides further choice for NAS services based on application needs and client operating system selection. Alacritech’s SNAs contribute to increased file and block transport driving system scalability. Deploying Alacritech’s Dynamic TCP Offload and SNAs results in servers extending their reach, meaning less capital expense being allocated to servers and likely fewer licenses, less support requirements and decreased power consumption.
For AMS Storage and Alacritech resellers, the addition of Alacritech SNAs to the AMS NAS appliances provides another reason to offer an integrated and simplified NAS and iSCSI SAN solution to solve customer’s storage consolidation and performance issues.
