History—We invented speed™
Alacritech, Inc., led by industry visionary Larry Boucher, began in 1997 to provide data acceleration solutions that enable the highest performance and efficiency in networked systems. After conceiving the idea of the SCSI interface and writing its initial specifications, Boucher conducted early work that led to the development of SCSI over Ethernet. When he envisioned the technical and cost advantages of using hardware acceleration for data delivery, he founded Alacritech with a handpicked team of engineers.

Today, Alacritech is the world's leading supplier of TCP Offload Engine (TOE) Network Interface Card (TNIC) solutions and the only supplier of TNIC products for Microsoft® Windows®-based systems. Our products—Scalable Network Accelerators™ and iSCSI Scalable Network Accelerators™—are quickly becoming the industry standard for data offload solutions.

Alacritech is well positioned as a leading technology provider to address the convergence of storage and networking, offering products that incorporate support for both. By offering products that support both, we enable network scalability: Servers can support more clients and storage, and network utilization is enhanced. All of Alacritech’s Accelerator products are based on the company’s patented Dynamic TCP Offload Technology™.

Alacritech’s approach to TCP offload is being wholly adopted by the industry as the standard technology that will drive the next generation of networking. Microsoft® licensed Alacritech technology and incorporated it into the Windows® Operating System as TCP Chimney Offload. Other notable suppliers, such as QLogic®, have also licensed the technology for incorporation into their next-generation designs.
